Alex completed his undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He also participated in an internship placement in the electro-optics group at Nortel in Ottawa. He is currently an M.A.Sc. candidate researching colloidal quantum dot based photovoltaics.

Lisa Rollny

Position: Ph. D. Candidate

Lisa received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and her Master of Material Science and Catalysis from the University of Bayreuth (Germany).  She is currently a Ph.D. candidate.  Her research focus is set on synthesis and processing of CQDs in non-aqueous solutions for subsequent application in photovoltaics.

Graham Carey

Graham graduated with a BSc in Chemistry and Physics from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. After spending a year working as a research assistant at the University of Illinois, he joined the Sargent group as a Ph.D. candidate doing research in solution processed solar cells using novel materials and architectures.

 

Daniel Paz-Soldan

Daniel Paz-Soldan has recently graduated with a degree in Engineering Physics from Queen's University at Kingston. He is currently a
M.A.Sc candidate in the Sargent group working on colloidal quantum dot photovoltaics.

Xinzheng Lan

Xinzheng Lan received his bachelor's degree in inorganic non-metallic materials from Hefei University of Technology. He is currently a visiting graduate student in the Sargent group working on colloidal quantum dot photovoltaics.

 
 

Kyle Kemp

Kyle has recently completed his undergraduate degree in engineering physics from Queen's University, Kingston, ON. He is presently an Ph.D. candidate and is working on solution-processed photovoltaics.
 

Ghada Koleilat

Ghada has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University and a Master of Engineering from the University of Toronto.  In her masters, she worked on PbSe CQD based photovoltaic devices.  She is currently a Ph.D. candidate doing research in CQD based solar cells using novel materials and architectures.

Illan Kramer

Illan has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Engineering from McGill University.  After his Master's degree, he worked at Teradyne in Massachusetts as a microwave circuit design engineer.  He is currently a Ph.D. candidate doing research in solution processed solar cells using novel materials and architectures. 

André Labelle

Position: Ph. D. Candidate

André has a Bachelor’s of Science in Physics from Laurentian University (Sudbury, ON) where he worked in the field of particle astrophysics, related to projects at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO). He is finishing his Master’s of Applied Science in Fusion Materials Research from the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS), studying retention properties of candidate plasma-facing materials for fusion applications. He is currently a PhD candidate doing research in CQD based solar cells using novel materials and architectures.

David Zhitomirsky

David Zhitomirsky has obtained his bachelor's degree in electrical and biomedical engineering from McMaster University. He is now a M. A. Sc candidate researching Quantum Dots and Photovoltaics.
